OH DEAR, WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR?
I'm sure many of you, if not all, uttered that ominous sentence. Wardrobe full of stuff and you don't know? You get something out, put it together and ... No? You might be right. The only thing you should be interested in is feeling good and expressing your real self in your clothes. You will glow in the simplest outfit! Your second skin will support the real you. Look past the many influences - parents, upbringing, partners, expectations of the society, oh and media! Stop wearing what is not really expressing you or your essence. EXPLORE AND SET THINGS RIGHT... TO FEEL GOOD is a priceless commodity to have nowadays! So. ENJOY BEING UNIQUE! FEEL GOOD!
ARE YOUR CLOTHES A COMFY SECOND SKIN?
If we presume to live 85 years, on average, then we wear clothes for some 745 000 hours, practically 24/7 - minus the time for showers, visits to a nudist beach, love-making. Those who sleep naked will make their own math, please.
The OCTO CODES method is about having fun while deeply understanding that we are so colourful and different and diverse and unique. And that is a hoot!
It's actually cool that we cannot possibly be the same: characteristics, desires, dreams, priorities, same type of intelligence. We don't have same ideas about life or same goals. And we are by no means equally equipped in all types of human qualities. Wouldn't it boring if we look and behaved all in a similar fashion?
TIRED OF THE CHAOS IN YOUR WARDROBE ?
CHAOS REIGNS. Well, it may not be you, still it's worth a thought. This pic reminds me of the mess during sales. It also says something about our attitude towards fashion, style, craftsmanship and, ultimately, our-selves.
Did you find the right piece? You loved it in the shop... You spent loads of money in hope of finally feeling good, maybe attractive and even trendy only to realise that you hadn't worn that piece of clothing in months. You can give it to a friend or a charity shop then perhaps there is a bit of sustainability in the whole situation.
Still, often it means your wardrobe gets fat, your purse thinner, your head confused, your spirit frustrated. OPEN THE WARDROBE. LET SOME AIR IN!
FASHION & STYLE
THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FASHION AND STYLE
I've heard recently that "Fashion is what you buy and style is what you do with it." Close but perhaps not quite. You can actually buy stuff you cannot do much with. Because ultimately, you don't resonate with the said stuff. It' s not you.
Fashion is dictated from outside - be it clothes or otherwise. It connects to trends and what's "in" in all walks of life. You can use it, play with it or be totally confused by it, even feel less confident because of it. Or totally ignore it.
Style is you. It is the unique aspect of your-self. If true to your-self, your style will show me who you are. Your clothes, yes, but your home, too & the way you behave and speak. It's the way you live. You cannot not show it, you cannot help but express it.
Often people have chaos in themselves, succumb to pressures of fashion and/or are strongly influence by their environment, society, status, upbringing and so they lose the sense of their style, their unique self.
"Fashion changes, but style endures," Coco teaches us the value of authenticity over following trends.
OCTO CODES
ABOUT TÁŇA, the creator of the method
Táňa Havlíčková's original profession was a fashion designer. She loved the job and was successful in it. Becoming a style consultant came about more as a hobby at first.
"In 1994 I started style consultations for my clients and found fascinating similarities. I analysed those various groups women and men and I came up with two basic types of people - reminiscent of Yin and Yang energies - and subsequently four subtypes in each of them. Amazingly, it showed not only without - i.e. the clothes, but also each of the eight types reflected its differences within - in the soul, in the psyche. " Eventually, I realise dumbfounding similarities not just with Yin and Yang but it extended into ancient I'Ting. But back in 1990's, I only took this method as a supplement to my work as a designer. More than fifteen years on, it knocked on my door again. And here we are."
In 2012 Táňa's discoveries called on her again. She created and developed a method based on principles that can be understood by anyone and called it OCTO CODES - the eight keys.
Táňa started talks, seminars, workshops and many consultations. Soon the interest spread and she now runs seminars and on/off-line workshops in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
